From August 30 to September 1, 2024, the most traditional international Concours d'Elegance in Germany will once again attract visitors to the circular baroque gardens of Schwetzingen Palace near Mannheim with special themes for the 20th time. The 40-strong jury of experts will judge around 160 classic automobiles according to the criteria of the FIVA world association.
120 years of Rolls-Royce
Around 40 Rolls-Royces of the most important models from 1911 onwards reflect the history of the British automobile aristocracy.
They are also the subject of the poster created by the well-known designer Hideo Kodama.
Lots of Veritas sports cars
Right at the entrance is a fan of more than ten Veritas sports cars from the period between 1946 and 1953, which were the first racing sports cars of the post-war era.
Borgward and Isabella
At the Hirschbrunnen, visitors can see the entire spectrum of Borgward history from the last 85 years and 70 years of Isabella.
The milestones from 125 years of Opel with the Lutzmann Opel from 1899 are also on the western roundel.
DeTomaso Sam Foose
And there are important milestones everywhere: a few selected Mercedes SLs for the 70th anniversary of the sports car with a star, the Concours world premiere of the DeTomaso Sam Foose from the USA or the aerodynamic wonder car Rovomobil from the 70s of the former GDR.
Light trucks
Mercedes-Benz Trucks presents the history of light trucks with Daimler from 1896 and Benz trucks from 1925, as well as a wood carburetor truck, next to which stands an Opel Kapitän with wood carburetor. Small and micro cars will also be back, such as the FIAT 850 Club with selected rarities, some with special bodies or from Abarth, as well as the FIAT 600 Friends.
Ford, Adler and Mercedes-Benz
The Old Ford Friends will be showcasing Ford history up to 1945, the Adler Club will be there, the Mercedes-Benz IG will be presenting 70 years of the Ponton saloon and, in keeping with tradition, the journey through the decades will begin with the ASC Schnauferln cars from 1900 onwards, leading up to the 1930s.
60 years of the Mustang
The US Concours is all about 60 years of "Baby Boomers" and the Ford Mustang family sports car, there are selected exhibits on 100 years of Chrysler, in the castle there is an exhibition with real Elvis memorabilia and on Saturday and Sunday there is not only live jazz, but also a fashion show in the USCCC.
The art exhibition designed by Curd-Achim Reich C.A.R. will once again showcase genuine masterpieces on the theme of the automobile and the market of accessories, fashion, hats, automobilia and the many gastronomic offerings are also worth a visit to Classic-Gala Schwetzingen, as all this and much more is available for just 10 euros admission.
