In August 2018, AMAG Schinznach-Bad hosted what is probably the only Porsche meeting in the world to showcase a sports car from every year since 1948. This was made possible thanks to AMAG's friendly contacts with its Porsche customers and the Porsche Club Switzerland.
For anyone who missed the event or would like to relive it in book form, a comprehensive collector's book will be available from mid-December.
The history of a brand told through 70 (71) vehicles
Porsche has fascinated people for 70 years. The numerous visitors to the 5th Porsche Classic Day in Schinznach-Bad were able to experience this. The fact that 70 sports cars from 70 years were on display was unique. The organizers used this unique occasion to take pictures of all the sports cars involved.
Zwischengas was also on board, taking hundreds of photos over two days, showing the cars both in close-up and in detail.
Avid readers of the Zwischengas annual magazine will have already found there the detailed history of the oldest two still existing series 356 models, but in Schinznach the entire period from 1948 to 2018 was actually covered with one model each.
The modern era was represented by a Porsche 991 GT3 Touring.
But models such as the 964 Speedster or the Carrera GT were not missing in Schinznach either.
Now as a book
The AMAG managers used this unique opportunity to produce a book that captures the magic of this event and the Porsche brand in words and pictures and should be on every Porsche fan's club table.
In mid-December, just in time for Christmas, this collector's book "70 years - 70 icons: Porsche at AMAG Schinznach-Bad".
On around 280 pages, the book provides an insight into Porsche history in Switzerland and the brand's model history. Each of the 70 models is presented individually with high-quality photos and a technical profile.
In addition, Porsche drivers talk about their personal fascination with the Stuttgart brand. And with advertising images from the Porsche archive, it becomes clear just how confidently the Porsche brand has constantly updated its communication and become an icon.
The elegantly designed book, which no Porsche book collection should be without, is available from AMAG for 49 francs (plus postage).
