From July 10 to 12, 2026, the Kurpark between the Kurgarten and Kaiserallee will once again be transformed into a rolling automobile museum when the 49th International Classic Car Meeting Baden-Baden opens its doors. This year, the BMW brand will be the guest of honor at the heart of the event and will have its own prominently placed guest of honor area.
With BMW, the focus in 2026 will be on a brand that combines automotive innovation, design history and sporting tradition in a special way. The Oldtimer-Meeting Baden-Baden is dedicating three anniversaries to the Guest of Honor brand in 2026:
- 90 years of the BMW 327/328: The elegant sports convertibles and roadsters from the late 1930s are still regarded as design and technology icons today and had a lasting impact on the brand's sporty image.
- BMW "old" New Class: The legendary sedans and coupés of the 1960s marked the resurgence of the brand and laid the foundation for the modern BMW understanding of design and driving dynamics.
- 30 years of the BMW Z3: The roadster of the 1990s brought the classic roadster feeling back to the BMW model range and quickly developed into a popular youngtimer.
BMW owners are cordially invited to register their historic vehicles - from classics from the 1930s and 1960s to youngtimers from the 1990s - for the classic car meeting. Vehicles of the Guest of Honour brand BMW can also be younger than the usual year of manufacture and will be given a special stage in the Guest of Honour area.
Visitors can look forward to a varied weekend with numerous program items and many unusual BMW exhibits in the Kurpark Baden-Baden. Information and registration forms are available on the event website until June 1.
Decades of tradition
The classic car meeting takes place on the second weekend in July in the Kurpark and Kaiserallee in Baden-Baden. The event is traditionally a concours d'elegance automobile. A total of 120 prizes are awarded for various categories such as condition, originality or beauty of the vehicle. All vehicles built up to 1979 are eligible, and the classic cars are judged by a jury made up of automotive designers, engineers and representatives of the organizer.
In addition to condition and rarity value, the jury also pays attention to historical clothing ("costumes d'époque") and creative floral decorations. Special prizes are also awarded for the longest journey or the most exciting classic car story. The award ceremony after the grand corso is the highlight of the weekend on Sunday afternoon.
When the sun goes down, 2000 lanterns bathe the Kurgarten in a magical light - an unforgettable experience for all guests.
The classic car meeting took place for the first time in 1976 with around 35 historic vehicles and 1000 visitors. Today, over 350 classic cars are admired by more than 20,000 classic car enthusiasts from all over Europe. Each event focuses on a different brand.
