It's that time of year again from March 19 to 20, 2016. Switzerland's oldest classic car fair, the Oldtimer & Parts Market Fribourg, will open its doors. 400 exhibitors and clubs will come together over two days on around 2000 square meters. With more than 20,000 visitors, this fair attracts a wide audience. Here is a first glimpse of what awaits us at the 41st edition of the OTM Fribourg.
500m2 for Swiss trucks
The Swiss trucks, Saurer, Berna and FBW are still used today by a wide variety of haulage and construction companies in the furthest reaches of Switzerland. Whether for road maintenance work or passenger transportation in the city or in the countryside. An area of 500m2 will be dedicated to these vehicles. It will be a real pleasure to see the long hoods of yesteryear and the extended cabins, characterized by a certain modernity. Solid and brave, they are and have been in service for decades.
Famous Fribourg artist honored
25 years have already passed since Jean Tinguely, who inspired us with his passionate painting and his machine-like sculptures, died in 1991. The OTM wants to honor this artist. As a world-famous Fribourg resident, he was a close friend of Jo Siffert, and his racing inspired many works of art. A good opportunity to combine the art of recycling old mechanical parts with the art of old materials, which often bring old vehicles back to life after a great deal of work.
Legendary Harley-Davidson motorcycles at the 27th Club Show
The 27th Club Show, in Hall 4 of the Forum Freiburg, is the ideal place to showcase the value of the vehicles of passionate collectors. Some legendary Harley-Davidson motorcycles will be on display, as well as the 80th anniversary of the Fiat Topolino. Other big surprises are being prepared by the invited clubs, but have not yet been announced.
Free city tour
As every year, the exhibitors and retailers are the heart of the OTM. And following the positive feedback from last year, there will once again be an outdoor exhibition of classic cars from visitors, who can park their classic cars in the nearby parking lot free of charge and without any worries. This year there will also be the opportunity to take a free city tour in a classic car.
It's worth a visit.
The OTM Fribourg is open on Saturday, March 19 from 09:00 to 18:00, on Sunday, March 20 the doors of the fair will be open from 09:00 in the morning until 17:00 in the evening. Admission costs CHF 15 for adults and CHF 2 for children aged 6-16. An exhibition catalog is also available for CHF 3.
