From August 30 to September 1, 2024, the unique, circular baroque garden at Schwetzingen Palace will once again be the arena for an automotive journey through time, with hundreds of selected classic vehicles from a wide range of eras being exhibited in the order of their years of construction. Whether steam or electric cars, motorized carriages, small cars of the economic miracle or even state cars and clever individual developments. Classic-Gala Schwetzingen 2024 shows how the automobile has developed over the last 120 years and how important design is for its success.
At the same time, anniversaries of major brands will be celebrated and an exclusive anniversary exhibition will be held in front of the palace under the banner "20th Anniversary of Classic-Gala Schwetzingen".
Visitors can also expect an ensemble of architecture, garden design, automobile design, music and international automotive art in the castle wing.
120 years of Rolls-Royce
The Rolls-Royce brand is one of the oldest automobile brands still operating under its original name. Founded by Henry Royce and Charles Rolls, the company established itself in the luxury car segment, in which it is still active today.
Of course, you can expect an interesting selection from 120 years of car manufacturing in Schwetzingen.
100 years of MG
MG, founded as Morris Garages Limited in 1904, primarily built affordable sports cars. However, MG was also successful in motor racing and set world speed records.
The most famous MG cars are probably the TC/TD/TF sports cars of the post-war period, followed by the MGA and MGB.
The trademark, the letters "M" and "G" in an octagon, have survived to this day, although the cars are now produced in China.
Examples from the brand's 100-year history are expected in Schwetzingen.
Opel can look back on 125 years of car manufacturing, and selected cars will also be on display here.
In addition, the Borgward brand is celebrating 85 years and the Borgward Isabella model 70 years.
The broad special show on "Veritas", a very successful international sports and racing car manufacturer after the war, should also be interesting.
