From August 30 to September 1, 2024, Schwetzingen Castle Park near Heidelberg will be the meeting place for the 150 most beautiful classic cars in history for the 20th time - an important anniversary that makes ASC-Classic-Gala Schwetzingen the most traditional German Concours d'Elegance in a castle park, as always in accordance with FIVA regulations*.
Anniversaries ...
The first glamorous theme is the 125th anniversary of Opel, for which European rarities from the history of the car brand will be presented in Rüsselsheim.
At the same time, an entire segment of the circular baroque garden is dedicated to the luxury brand Rolls Royce, which built its first automobiles in 1904.
The Chrysler brand, which was founded in 1924 and later became the third major US car company after Ford and GM, together with Plymouth, Dodge and others as the MoPar division, is similarly steeped in tradition.
Carl F. Borgward's car factory in Bremen, on the other hand, always remained a family business, operating under the family name after the takeover of Hansa-Werke in 1939. With the Borgward 1500/1800, Borgward built the first German production car with a pontoon body, which was followed 70 years ago in 1954 by the legendary Isabella.
Also 70 years old are the Mercedes 220 Ponton, 190 and 300 SL, which are being celebrated with exclusive exhibits.
... and a lot of tradition
The General Schnauferl Club ASC, which was also founded in 1900 as a club of automobile inventors and is the most traditional German classic car club, is the patron of the event. The main partner for more than 10 years has been Württembergische Versicherung, one of the leading classic car insurance companies.
ASC-Classic-Gala Schwetzingen will, as always with the assistance of the brand clubs, present a selection of the best cars on each theme - the international application jury will select from the applications received.
Early application is strongly recommended.
In contrast to most international Concours d'Elegances, the public will benefit from an entrance fee of just 9 euros on the weekend of August 30 to September 1, 2024 - which is also unique worldwide.
Further information can be found on the event website.
