Lutziger Classic Cars will once again be represented with a large stand at the eighth Swiss Classic World Lucerne from June 2 to 4, 2023. As a special treat, two rare Sauber racing cars will be on display in Lucerne
Sauber C2
The Sauber C2 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971.
After the C1, this was the second thoroughbred racing car designed by Peter Sauber. Two examples were built, one for Kühnis and one for Hans-Dieter Kox. Kox raced the car in international hill climb and circuit races from 1972 to 1974.
The engine was a Ford-Cosworth FVA 1.6-liter four-cylinder, as used in Formula 2.
Sauber C5
The Sauber C5 was presented in January 1976 at the International Racing Car Show in Zurich. The aerodynamic shape and advanced design represented a major step forward for Sauber.
The Sauber C5 from 1976, painted in the Artos colors, is chassis 76-C05-001. The car was driven by Peter Müller, but also Harry Blumer, Eugen Strähl, Max Welti and Werner Wenk, including at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Wenk became Swiss champion with it in 1979.
In addition to the two Sauber racing sports cars, the Lutziger family will be showing a selection from their current classic repertoire on two and four wheels in Lucerne.
You can of course read more about Lutziger Classic Cars on the company's website.
