The 15th Automédon exhibition will take place in Paris this year from October 10 to 11, 2015. At the "Parc des Expositions" Paris Le Bourget in Hall 4, classic automobiles and motorcycles will be presented and demonstrated in competition against each other.
On around 20,000m2(indoors)and on 9 podiums, the history of various rarities from private collections, clubs and French automobile museums will be told, presented by over 350 exhibitors. In addition to the clubs, the exhibitors include spare parts dealers, car and motorcycle sellers and booksellers who will be showcasing their rarities. In addition, well-known racing cars that have celebrated international success will be on display and the 30,000m2 classic car parking lot on the grounds will be home to classic vehicles throughout the weekend.
Competitions and races go hand in hand with car brands and their ability to break speed records. It helps them to improve their image, to become better known and to attract many new customers. That's why Automédon exhibits cars that have achieved fame by winning a Grand Prix, such as the Gladiator (1911), the Delahaye 134 (1939) and the Talbot Lago 8-cylinder (1939)
Hardly anyone knows the Simca brand today, which is why the Simca France Club has decided to present its rare vehicles and racing cars with Simca mechanics. One of them is the Simca 5, in which Amédée Gordini won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in his class.
The Ford Thunderbrid is also celebrating its 60th birthday at the Automédon. The first Thunderbird in 1955 was actually intended to be a sports car, but it soon developed into a luxury car. The last model was produced in 2005. Five of these examples can be viewed in the exhibition, including the extremely rare 1957 convertible with the folding roof.
The 14th Automédon Paris in 2014 broke all records, attracting not only 17,000 visitors but also around 3,000 classic cars and motorcycles to the site.
As in the previous year, the vehicles can be admired on both days from 09:00 to 19:00 and visitors only pay 12 euros, the reduced price is 10 euros and young fans (under 14 years) can even attend free of charge. Drivers with a classic car from 1939 and under also enjoy free admission.
