As one of only 32 Speed Twenty SC Drophead Coupe's with Charlesworth bodywork, this Alvis was delivered on December 22, 1934, a copy of the Alvis production data sheet is available. At that time still blue with blue leather interior, the imposing convertible went to a Mr. Walther Sharpe in Leicester. In the following years, the Speed Twenty - chassis 17044 - had 6 more English owners, was probably restored in the 1980s and acquired and imported in the current color combination in 1987 by the first and so far only Swiss owner. From then on, he used the noble Briton for numerous excursions, worldwide rally participations (including China) and participations in various Concours d'Elegance. The car was always well maintained and received a type-correct and overhauled replacement engine (12426) around 10 years ago. A pallet with the original engine and some spare parts is available and will be included in the sale. Due to family changes, the Alvis was deregistered in August 2021 and put into storage. The rare convertible is well documented and is in good condition with signs of use. The last MFK as a veteran vehicle took place in March 2020.
Viewing by arrangement.
