Even the first Porsche 911 (originally called the 901) with 130 hp was not weak, but in the summer of 1966 the Zuffenhausen-based company presented the S model with 160 hp at 6600 rpm. "From racing to the road" could be taken literally here, but the 911 S was by no means averse to everyday use. This vehicle report looks back at the history of the early 911 S and shows it in historical and current pictures.
In the winter of 1968/69, the magazine 'hobby' was given the opportunity to test a brand new Porsche 911 S with fuel injection and 170 hp that had just been run in. And the enthusiasm was great, despite the infernal noise and loss of comfort. This report reproduces the original wording of the test report together with restored pictures.
