From American Austin to Nash Metropolitan - small cars for big America

The American Austin and the American Bantam tried to make compact cars appealing to Americans in the 1930s. As close relatives of the Austin Seven, they carried English genes, but did not catch on in America. In the 1950s, Nash once again tried to position small cars as second cars with the Metropolitan, and with considerable success, not least thanks to the help of Austin. This report briefly introduces the history of the three cars and shows them in several variants in many pictures.
