When people talk about Maserati styling, they are usually referring to the Maserati Ghibli, Giorgietto Giugiaro's masterpiece. Long hood, flowing lines, large windows, short rear end and maximized elegance made this design immortal. Many copied cars such as the Matra-Simca Bagheera or the Bitter CD drew on it. Even today, the Ghilbli still impresses with its beguiling beauty, but not only with this, as this report shows with many current and contemporary photos, several brochures and original documents.

This is probably a one-off test, probably the only one in this constellation. The Lamborghini Miura meets the De Tomaso Mangusta, the Monteverdi hi speed 375 S and the Maserati Ghibli. Playboy cars is what hobby calls this sports car category. Well, the vehicles perform well and even today in 2011, acceleration times and top speeds are impressive, especially when you consider that the test took place over 40 years ago. The fact that the Monteverdi won as the best all-rounder in this test, but the Miura was the fastest, is probably only of historical interest from today's perspective, but the fact that the vehicles were notable for a number of problems could still be relevant for one or two fans today.
