In the summer of 1959, the Lloyd company unveiled its new small car, the Lloyd 900, later called the Arabella. The 'hobby' test driver Gebhardt summarized just how many innovations the engineers had come up with in his first driving report. His enthusiasm is easy to read: "The new star of Lloyd is full of surprises inside and out! Are we at the beginning of a new era of 'big small cars'?"
