Between 1938 and 1952, Lancia built around 23,000 Ardea saloons and estate cars (Furgoncino). They were all very advanced, exceptionally compact and economical. However, the convertible, which Pininfarina built on the Ardea basis and which turned the small car into a fresh air fun for the small (and wealthy) family, remained really rare. This report portrays one of the few Pininfarina convertibles and goes into the development history of the Lancia Ardea with pictures and text.
