Gianni Agnelli liked something special, but liked to drive cars that didn't stand out too much. The Fiat 130 Famliare fitted perfectly into the concept, especially as it was ideal for transporting skis and accessories in St. Moritz. Only three (or four?) examples were built, all of which were different. This article tells the story of the Fiat 130 Familiare and shows it together with the series base in current and historical images.
The new 131 with the nickname Mirafiori - named after its main plant in Turin - marked a turning point for Fiat in several respects: an emphatically functional shape, low maintenance requirements thanks to relatively simple technology, special emphasis on a durable and impact-resistant body. This test report from 1975 explains what characterized the 131 with the 1300/55 hp or 1600/75 hp engine variant and basic or special equipment.
In 1980, Walter Röhrl won the World Rally Championship with the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally, and Fiat won three times in the one-make world championship with the car. The Fiat 131 Mirafiori was by no means born to win rallies. However, this changed with the evolution version 131 Abarth Rally 1976, which was built 400 times.
