Ferrari Pinin - a design milestone of the 80s goes under the hammer

When Lot No. 296 is called at RM Auctions in London on October 26, 2011, much more than a design study will be up for sale. The Ferrari Pinin from 1980 is a proposal for a Ferrari four-door that had an enormous influence on car designers in the 1980s and can still be seen today as an extremely successful and almost timelessly beautiful creation. This report describes the one-off from a designer's perspective and features current pictures by RM as well as historical ones by Pininfarina. The original Pininfarina information brochure is particularly valuable and worth reading.
