Maserati had shown with the 3500 GT that a comfortable coupé that could also accommodate more than two people could find buyers, even a surprisingly large number of buyers. Enzo Ferrari did not want to stand by and watch, and so the Ferrari 250 GT 2+2 was created, which was so good that Enzo himself enjoyed driving it. And it is still appreciated by its owners today as a pleasant traveling companion. This vehicle report tells the story of the 2+2-seater coupé, illustrated with current and historical pictures. The Ferrari 250 GTO is considered the most expensive car in history after one changed hands for USD 35 million in 2012. Just 39 examples were built, including three particularly rare 4-liter versions, also known as the 330 GTO.
