Summary
The first auctions of the new year are always watched with particular interest, especially in turbulent times - the credit crisis and high unemployment figures send their regards. The results of the RM Auction on January 19 and 20, 2012 in Arizona, which traditionally heralds in the New Year, were accordingly eagerly awaited. If one event can be interpreted as an indicator for the year as a whole, then the classic car community is in for a good year. 133 vintage and classic cars worth an estimated 24 million euros or CHF 29 million were on display. Around 90% of them were sold at an average price of 160,407 euros, or 193.874 CHF. 19 vehicles were sold above the average estimated value before taxes/surcharges, 101 just or significantly below. This article lists the complete results and takes a closer look at some of the vehicles on offer. The accompanying picture gallery shows the most beautiful vehicles.
