Treser 1987-1988 - Production: barely started, already over again
Summary
There were around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of them have disappeared. Treser can also be counted among them. Walter Treser, a former high-ranking Audi employee, had high hopes for his project, the Treser T1, which he developed. However, production only lasted for five months and although orders had already been received, Treser's project was soon over and the name "Treser" was forgotten.

Sometimes history repeats itself: just as around 1950 - the US Playboy small car with a retractable fixed roof, the Treser T1 with a similar roof also ended in a financial debacle ..., even if the target was only an annual production of 1500 instead of 100,000 units. Walter Treser was Head of Advanced Development at Audi, Project Manager for the Audi Quattro and then Head of Sport before founding his own company for Audi tuning and collector's models in Hofstetten in 1982. This company was granted car manufacturer status in 1984 and moved to Ingolstadt. Treser had already developed an Audi Quattro with a retractable fixed roof in 1983, and in 1985 he presented a cutaway model of a streamlined mid-engined sports car at the IAA. The Berlin Senate offered support for its series production, including a production facility.
