In the history of the automobile, double names often developed special prestige, such as Rolls-Royce and Hispano-Suiza, Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin, but of course also Mercedes-Benz. And Germany once had another automotive dual name that justified its attractive sound through quality and performance: Simson-Supra. The first four-cylinder models with displacements of 1460 and 2614 cm3 produced from 1911 onwards by the traditional arms manufacturer Simson & Co. in Suhl, Thuringia, were simply called Auto Simson. After the First World War, they were available with 1570 to 3613 cm3, the latter with overhead valves (OHV).
