Summary
Over the years, an enthusiast in Portugal with interests that were certainly not commonplace collected very special classic cars that particularly appealed to him. On September 21, these vehicles went under the hammer. RM/Sotheby's auctioned 124 cars with a total value of almost EUR 10 million. All of them were sold; after all, the cars were offered without a reserve price. The risk paid off, as the total turnover ultimately exceeded EUR 10 million. Some exotic cars performed particularly well, while other rarities were disappointing. This auction report analyzes the results in detail and shows all cars with pictures and sales prices.
This article contains the following chapters
- All without a reserve price
- French exotics coveted
- Super classics mostly within the expected range
- Some special classics well below the estimates
- Neoclassics with good prices

Preview (beginning of the article)
For years, an enthusiast in Portugal with interests that were certainly not commonplace collected very special classic cars that appealed to him in particular. He did not limit himself to sports cars from Porsche or BMW, but also bought exotic cars such as the WD Denzel or the HRG Aerodynamic by Fox & Nicholl. A Jowett Jupiter Sports from 1951 and a Willys Interlagos Coupé from 1963 were also part of the certainly unusual collection. On September 21, 2019, they were sold in Alcácer do Sal in the interior of Portugal, about 200 km from Lisbon. The entire collection, worth not quite EUR 10 million, was offered without a reserve price. 57 brands were represented, the average age of the vehicles was just under 60 years.
