Summary
90 vehicles of all kinds, including penny-farthings, motorcycles and an amphibious vehicle, faced the critical bidding public at the spring auction of the Oldtimer Galerie Toffen on March 26, 2022. The 90 vehicles, which were almost 50 years old on average, were valued at around CHF 3.1 million. A total of 56 percent were sold, while a further 30 percent may still be sold following renegotiations. The stars of the auction were three very early automobiles by Millot and a VW Beetle Cabriolet, but some unorthodox vehicles were also surprising. This auction review describes the atmosphere on site, analyzes the results and shows the vehicles in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
For many vintage and classic car enthusiasts, the spring auction in Toffen has been part of the start of the season for many years, just like redeeming their classic car or planning their first tours. On Saturday, March 26, 2022, the time had come again and for the first time since the pandemic measures were lifted, the public was able to attend the auction without restrictions or masks. Apparently, however, some of the bidders and interested parties have now become accustomed to following the auction via livestream and online platforms, as it was not quite as crowded as in previous auctions in Toffen before the pandemic.
