Preview (beginning of the article)
The auction of the "Oldtimer Galerie" on the Saturday of the fair at the Swiss Classic World in Lucerne has been a highlight of the classic car fair in Central Switzerland for years. On May 31, 2025, 44 vehicles drove over the ramp from 17:00 in front of a large audience. The total value of the cars had been estimated in advance at CHF 3.95 million, and not quite a third went under the hammer without a reserve price. With seven Mercedes-Benz, six Ferrari, four Jaguar and three Lancia, well-known classic brands were best represented among the average 51-year-old cars. The salt in the soup were three Formula cars from the seventies and some exotic cars from TVR or Morgan.
