Summary
Over 140 vehicles will go under the hammer at the RM Auction in Monterey on August 19 and 20, 2011, the cheapest with a lower estimate of USD 15,000, the most expensive for USD 5,000,000 (or more). With an average value (according to estimated prices) of around USD 580,000, a big wallet is definitely required, but at least around 50 vehicles, or around a third, will be offered for sale without a minimum bid. So there may be one or two bargains to be had on the spot. The offer ranges from a whole series of rare Mercedes Benz 500/540K types, to some American muscle cars, beautiful Ferraris, vintage racing cars or even a comparatively young Jaguar XJR-15, as well as typical entry-level classics such as the Triumph TR 3/4 or the Porsche 356. The complete list (as of August 6, 2011) with estimated prices and "no reserve" markings at the end of the article provides exhaustive information. Some of the vehicles on offer are briefly portrayed in this article. The gallery with around 240 pictures shows many of the treasures on offer.

The current stock market situation is either a blessing or a curse for the upcoming RM auction in Monterey, which will take place from August 19 to 20, 2011. Perhaps many wealthy people want to invest the funds released on the stock market in classic cars at this time, or perhaps they are acting cautiously and keeping their cash at this time. We will see. In any case, it will not be due to the RM Auction's offer, as the auction company has once again brought together an almost unbelievable collection of valuable automobiles. Over 140 vehicles will go under the hammer, the cheapest with a lower estimate of USD 15,000, the most expensive for USD 5,000,000 (or more). With an average value (according to estimated prices) of around USD 580,000 , a big wallet is definitely required, but at least around 50 vehicles, or around a third, will be offered for sale without a minimum bid. So there may be one or two bargains to be had on the spot.
