Preview (beginning of the article)
Iconic Auctioneers organized an auction for the third time on the occasion of the "Supercar Fest" at Sywell Aerodrome. On May 18, 2024, 85 cars were offered, with automobilia and number plates also going under the hammer. The 85 cars had been estimated in advance at £5.7 million or £67,465 per car. However, only 44% of the cars were sold, resulting in a final turnover of £2.75 million, with three cars worth over £150,000 being sold after the auction and without an official price being quoted. On average, the highest bids amounted to 72 percent of the average estimate. Seven brands accounted for around half of the vehicles on offer: Ford (13 cars), Porsche (9), BMW (5), Ferrari (4), Jaguar (4), Land Rover (4) and Mitsubishi (4). A further 24 brands divided the other half between them.
