Preview (beginning of the article)
The marathon sale of 169 cars lasted almost eight hours on November 9, 2024, with Iconic Auctioneers using the platform of the NEC Classic Motor Show to bring a variety of classics under the hammer once again before the end of the year. In total, these cars were worth just over £10 million. A total of 128 cars (76%) were sold for a total of £7.341 million. On average, bidders paid £ 57,237 per car. The highest bids were on average 83% of the median estimate, 18 cars exceeded expectations, the rest were below. With 27 cars, Ford was the dominant brand at the auction. Only 59% of them were sold, the average price of a Ford was £102,387, which was of course due to some particularly valuable examples, but more on that later.
