Bruce Weiner is a tenacious collector. How else would he have managed to amass what is probably the largest collection of microcars in just 15 years and bring it together in a museum(Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum)? Weiner was primarily interested in hunting, rather than ownership, or so he said. That's why he had 200 vehicles, together with around 300 exhibition items (from toys to neon lighting), auctioned off by the RM auction house. 200 microcars (and relatives) came up for sale on February 16 and 17, 2013 at the auction of Bruce Weiner's collection, with the vehicles estimated at between USD 5.4 and 72 million. All lots were sold without a reserve price, a risk that paid off. At the end of the two-day auction marathon, the calculator showed a total of USD 8.1 million (including surcharges/surcharges of 15%).
