Summary
Dorotheum brought a truly wide range of items under the hammer on June 15, 2019 in Vösendorf/Vienna. A total of over 100 lots were offered, including 59 cars. The rest included motorcycles, mopeds and even bicycles. The 59 cars were estimated at a total of EUR 3.6 million (CHF 4 million), but only around EUR 2.13 million of this was realized on 15 June 2019 because some of the more expensive cars, including a Ferrari 250 GTE and a Porsche 911 works test car ex Helmut Bott, were left standing. The sales rate of 81 percent (cars only) was nevertheless good, not least thanks to many lots without a reserve price, which were responsible for some bargains. This auction report analyzes the results and shows many of the cars in pictures.

Dorotheum brought a truly wide range of lots under the hammer on June 15, 2019 in Vösendorf/Vienna. A total of 107 lots were offered, including 59 cars. The rest included motorcycles, mopeds and even bicycles. While the oldest car, an American LaFrance, was built as early as 1917, the youngest car is considered a classic car, but was only built in 2003 as a Beetle "Ultima Edicion". The estimate for this Beetle was EUR 24,000 to 30,000, but it was not sold. The American LaFrance had an easier time of it, finding a new owner for EUR 59,800 (CHF 66,976), who was no doubt pleased to be able to take delivery of the car for almost a quarter less than expected.
