and 10,000 car brands and designers have existed - most of them have disappeared. Société De Dion-Bouton et Cie, the first and for a long time also the largest car brand, can be counted among these lost brands. Its founders were the inventors of a vertical steam boiler with small evaporation tubes, the well-known De-Dion rear axle, battery ignition and carburetor also came from De-Dion Bouton. Thanks to significant racing victories, production went well and by 1932 hundreds of thousands of vehicles had been built and sold.
