Preview (beginning of the article)
On August 14 and 15, 2024, the still young auction house Broad Arrow Auctions, which is part of Hagerty, was in Monterey for the third time and, as in previous years, bidders were invited to the Jet Center. There were 156 cars on offer with a value of USD 108.59 million. 38% of the cars were auctioned without a reserve price. On average, the cars were 47 years old. 131 vehicles were sold directly or shortly after the auction, with total sales amounting to USD 72.55 million. This means that buyers paid USD 553,790 (EUR 503,949 or CHF 481,797) per car. 30 cars bore a Porsche badge, 21 of them a Ferrari or Dino badge. The star from Zuffenhausen was represented 16 times, Chevrolet ten times.
