Brennabor also made the transition from baby carriage and bicycle manufacturer to motorcycle and car producer. The first Pw model was built from 1905, with actual series production beginning in 1908. At the same time, the popular Brennaborette with a single front wheel was created. Brennabor is another name for Brandenburg, where the founding Reichstein family had established their company in 1871. While the first models had one- and two-cylinder engines from Fafnir, from 1911 the company's own four-cylinder engines with a displacement of 1.3 to 2.5 liters were used. Carl Reichstein junior was a talented designer and helped the brand to achieve a high reputation in reliability and record-breaking races. The successes opened up additional markets such as Russia and Great Britain. Brother Eduard Reichstein spent eight years in Detroit learning American production methods and rationalized the Brennabor factories. From the 1920s onwards, the company concentrated on two model series and , thanks to low prices, briefly became Germany's largest car manufacturer; in 1924, 6,000 workers were employed.
