It was a manageable and fine selection that Bonhams auctioned on October 6, 2017 on the occasion of the Zoute Grand Prix in Knokke-Heist in Belgium. In addition to some interesting automobiles, 32 cars worth around EUR 6.5 million went under the hammer. This was the fifth auction to be held in Zoute. The bidders came into the fire even before the full-size cars. Impressive prices were offered for some of the automobilia; a Bugatti children's car, modeled by hand on a Bugatti 35 in modern times, found a new owner for EUR 27,600 or CHF 31,655, several times higher than expected. The fact that we were not dealing with bidders with a one-sided interest was demonstrated by three results where the hammer price was significantly higher than the estimate. The first was the BMW Z8 from 2000, which sold for an impressive EUR 316,250 (CHF 362,833).
