The signs were good when Bonhams opened the auction at the Goodwood Revival on September 14, 2013. Able-to-pay and, above all, racing-enthusiastic buyers were assured and the weather did not deter people from entering the almost bursting tent. The catalog and the lot list contained many interesting vehicles, ranging from the Alfa Romeo Tipo C 8C-35 to various collector's cars from long-standing family ownership. The results are a good testimony to Bonhams' auction machinery. 88% of the cars were sold, only 9 of the 74 vehicles were left standing. The total volume of sales amounted to EUR 15.8 million and CHF 19.6 million respectively. On average, Euro 244,000 or CHF 302,000 changed hands per vehicle sold. However, the star of the evening event was considerably more expensive.
