Summary
176 cars that once made up the collection of Frank K. Spain and the Tupelo Automobile Museum went under the hammer on April 27, 2019, after automobilia had been auctioned off the day before. The total value of the cars was estimated at almost USD 10 million. It didn't turn out to be quite that much, although some cars found new hands well above the estimate. The range of cars and technical concepts that Spain had collected since the 1970s was impressive. This report analyzes the results and shows all the vehicles in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
Frank K. Spain was an electrical engineer and his professional discipline was certainly a decisive factor in the selection of cars that he has incorporated into his collection since the 1970s. Since 2002, his car collection has also been open to the public at the Tupelo Automobile Museum in Mississippi and anyone who went there got to see a highly interesting cross-section of almost 100 years of automobile construction, namely all types of drive systems, the most diverse body designs, but also the rarest makes and vehicles. Spain passed away in 2006 and now, more than 12 years later, his widow decided to sell the collection, with a social institution benefiting from the proceeds of the sale.
