Summary
On the occasion of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami, Bonhams organized an auction of automobiles on the morning of 3 May 2026, just like last year. On offer were 31 cars worth USD 41.4 million. A total of 17 vehicles were sold for an average of around USD 886,000. While young hyper sports cars fetched high prices, a Meyers Manx Buggy and the Porsche 993 Cabriolet owned by Gene Hackman came as a surprise. This auction review analyzes the results and shows the vehicles in pictures.

On the occasion of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami, Bonhams organized an auction of automobiles, just like last year. The live auction was accompanied by online memorabilia auctions. The 31 cars on offer on May 3, 2026 (including one children's car) were estimated in advance at a total of USD 41.4 million, i.e. over USD 1.33 million per lot. 23% of the lots were offered without a reserve price. The auction was surprisingly conducted by auctioneer Maarten Ten Holder, who had not been seen in recent months since leaving Bonhams. He worked hard for around two hours, but was unable to prevent only 55% of the cars from being sold, leaving 45% standing. On average, bidders went as high as 84% of the median estimate, although individual lots only achieved just over 30% of expectations.
