Summary
Tuning cars has a long tradition in the Ruhr region. The cars converted there in the 1980s are now recognized classic cars in their own right. Cars are still being tuned in Dortmund today, albeit without losing their sense of history. In this article, we describe our impressions of three somewhat more unusual car museums in Dortmund and show many of the exhibits in pictures.

Tuning cars has a long tradition in the Ruhr region. The cars converted there in the 1980s - for example at D&W in Wattenscheid - are now also recognized classic cars. Today, car enthusiasts may associate the Ruhr city of Dortmund more with eye-catching tuning than with classic cars. But appearances are deceptive, because a trip there is also worthwhile for fans of old sheet metal. So let's take a trip to an automotive Bermuda Triangle, the tips of which are located in Dortmund. What they all have in common is that the protagonists have become popular through private television or YouTube channels.
