226 vehicles, including a motorcycle, were registered for the Silverstone Classic online auction on July 31 and August 1, 2020. The value of the classic cars with an average age of 40 years was estimated in advance at almost £22 million. The bidders eagerly participated, so that 73% of the vehicles were sold and £ 15.4 million was realized. The bids were surprisingly close to the median estimate, averaging almost 90%. Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Triumph and Citroën did particularly well, but 92% of the 55 Porsches on offer were also sold. This auction report analyzes the results and shows many of the cars in pictures.
