On March 26 and 27, 1927, the first edition of a great race took place, which was unique in history. The Mille Migla, the 1000-mile race from Brescia, with start and finish in the Lombardy industrial city, Rome being the southern turning point of this merciless battle over Italian roads. 1600 km at racing speed, non-stop, on virtually unclosed roads, in front of millions of spectators who stayed at the side of the road for hours. The Italians hit the nail on the head when they claim - with a dash of chauvinism - that the Mille Miglia was "la corsa piü bella del mondo" (the most beautiful race in the world).
