The fastest should be the winner, whether professional or amateur, whether 1,000 cc or 3,000 cc. To say it in advance: there will be no problems or scandals in 1968. The rally is held in perfect sporting conditions, except for the spectators who shovel snow onto the rough road 200 meters below the top of the Turini pass. And Gérard Larousse, second in the intermediate classification, promptly slams his Renault-Alpine with racing tires into a stone bridge. Larousse has to retire.
