Summary
Contrary to all the prophecies of doom that had repeatedly described the Klausen race as "dead", a historic hill climb took place again on the Klausen Pass on the weekend of September 27 to 29, 2013, after 2006. And those who didn't shy away from the arduous journey into the Glarus Alps - preferably equipped with a stick and hiking boots - had the opportunity to see, hear and smell an almost unique collection of pre-war cars, including the Mercedes Benz W25, the original Muff Bugatti 35 and the Schneider-Derby K4, all of which had once raced on the Klausen. This photo report describes the atmosphere and results and shows the event in over 600 pictures.

Contrary to all the prophecies of doom that had repeatedly described the Klausen race as "dead", a historic mountain race took place again on the Klausen Pass on the weekend of September 27-29, 2013, after 2006. And those who didn't shy away from the arduous journey into the Glarus Alps - ideally equipped with poles and hiking boots, as the best places could only be reached on foot - had the opportunity to see, hear and smell an almost unique collection of pre-war automobiles! They had to wait a long time, the fans of the Klausenrennen! But it was worth the wait, because by the time Roland Asch thundered up the mountain in the legendary 1934 Mercedes Benz W25, nobody regretted getting up early. The W25 has a special connection with the Klausen, as Rudolf Caracciola won in 1934 in exactly this type of car ahead of Hans Stuck in the Auto Union.
