Summary
On January 28, 2012, an important motorsport event takes place in the USA: "Daytona" celebrates its 50th birthday! It was held for the first time in 1962, when it only lasted 3 hours. In the meantime, Daytona has become one of the most important dates in the motorsport calendar and can look back on a very interesting history. To mark the occasion, we have compiled a few stories and facts from the last 50 years and are very happy to have received permission from Louis Galanos and George Baron to add their photos to our archive photos, thank you very much once again! The photo gallery shows a splendid cross-section of the first decades of Daytona history and clearly reminds us of the greats who competed at Daytona (vehicles as well as racing drivers).
