For many years, the car could be found on various starter lists for classic car events.The man at the wheel was always the same man who had successfully competed in the last Mille Miglia in 1957 with this very car - Paul Ernst Strähle, born on September 20, 1927 in Schorndorf. The combination won the GT class up to 1600 cubic meters. Alfonso de Portago's fatal accident put an end to the most famous road race in the world! After the success at the Mille, the demands increased, the car had to be lighter and this was achieved with aluminum hoods and doors as well as Plexiglas for the windows. The engine capacity was also increased from 1500 to 1600 cm3. This engine is still in the "V2" today.
