Every list of classic racing sports cars must include one brand and one type: the MG K3 Magnette. Not only did it make a decisive contribution to MG's reputation, it also cemented England's reputation as a motorsport nation in the 1930s. Because they won races, lots of races, these MG K3s. A small excerpt from the long list of successes: Team prize and class victory up to 1100 cm3 in the 1933 Mille Miglia, victory also in the TT of the Royal Automobile Club, the Coppa Acerbo of Pescare (twice), the 500 miles of Brooklands, the Swiss Grand Prix of Voiturettes, the Circuito di Modena and the Italian national championship up to 1100 cm3. There are many famous names among the drivers: Tazio Nuvolari, Captain George Eyston, "Tim" Birkin, Dick Seaman, Whitney Straight, Earl Howe and also Hugh Hamilton, who could have become just as great a driver as Dick Seaman if not for his tragic accident.
