Best Photos «Worship of legends on the Grossglockner - the 2012 Grand Prix»
In 1935, 1938 and 1939, an international hill climb took place on the Grossglockner, in which many of the famous racing drivers and car manufacturers of the time took part. Over 70 years later, this tradition was revived with the Grossglockner Grand Prix. In keeping with the characteristics of the original event, the field of participants consisted mainly of pre-war vehicles, including the Mercedes-Benz W125, several Bugatti, Alfa Romeo and Maserati. In good weather conditions and framed by a unique mountain panorama, around 70 vehicles completed the 14.5 km route from Ferleiten to Fuscher Törl according to the rules of a regularity test. This event report shows the participating vehicles in over 300 pictures and compares the 2012 edition with its historical role models.
