The Oldtimer Sunday Morning Meeting in Zug is one of the standard dates for many owners of classic everyday and sports cars. The informal atmosphere and the wide range of classic cars on display motivate people to make the trip to Lake Zug.

And even if it rains, many old car owners do not hesitate to drive up to the bull stables, where all kinds of cattle are usually paraded.
September 10, 2017 was the last of the five Sunday morning events, and this time the pre-war cars were especially invited.
Happy Birthday Porsche 928
The guests of honor, however, were the "Porsche 928 Friends Switzerland", who, reinforced by some colleagues from the neighboring country to the north, were able to show practically the entire spectrum of transaxle 928s in Zug.

Over 30 cars came together, including very rare tuning versions and the already legendary Arzt-Golf.

In principle, this is a complete Porsche 928 whose body was completely rebuilt using VW Golf parts. It is said to have taken 2200 hours of work at the time, which doesn't even seem excessive given the complexity of the project - the hood alone consists of five Golf hoods.
Interestingly, the Artz Golf was even faster than the Porsche 928. The exotic car, which looks familiar at first glance but has unusual features at second glance, was much admired in Zug.

The Artz Golf was then positioned between the two donor vehicles for a photo.

The Artz Golf almost stole the show from the other Porsche 928s, although there were many beautiful and interesting vehicles, such as the oldest two examples still in existence in Switzerland.
What many people probably no longer know is that the Porsche 928 was presented to the public for the first time in Switzerland at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1977 and that it was voted Car of the Year in 1978.
Wide range of vehicles
As always, there was a wide range of different vehicles on display in Zug. If you would like to get an impression, we recommend taking a longer look at the picture gallery .
From the pre-war Ford V8 to the Citroën Légère, the DKW 3=6, the Ford Capri, the VW Golf I and II or the indestructible Beetle, there was a lot to see in Zug that used to be commonplace on our roads.
Today, almost all of these cars are rarities, even the former bread-and-butter cars.
These were joined by the luxury cars of bygone eras, such as the Fiat Ardita 2500 or the almost unbelievably long 1959 Cadillac Series 62.
And, of course, the still popular sports cars such as the Porsche 356, Austin-Healey or MGB were not missing.
Together, the result was a mix that you can hardly get enough of.
Complete package
And if you got tired of walking around, you could get refreshments in the dry tent, where there was music as well as coffee, nut croissants and hot food. Hardly anyone got bored, and anyone who had had enough of the entertainment could get back behind the wheel and drive home or to the next classic car meeting. Just informal ...
