After a week of mostly dry autumn weather and plenty of sunshine, the weather forecast for Sunday, October 5, 2025 was rather mixed, i.e. cloudy with some precipitation. In fact, it had rained heavily the night before the "Albisgütli Classic Car & Bikes" and the roads were still wet in the morning.
This apparently prevented one or two potential event visitors from coming by, as the square at the Albisgütli restaurant in Zurich filled up much more slowly than at previous events.
However, it remained largely dry and sometimes even sunny into the afternoon, so some classic car drivers once again took the opportunity to make a stop at the Albisgütli.
Special VW bus show
As a special feature, the VW Beetle Club Limmattal and VW Bus Club Switzerland organized a special exhibition of VW buses from different generations on 5 October.
The VW Beetles were somewhat less present.
Everyday cars from back then
As always at the Albisgütli, everyday cars of the past such as the Mini, Ford Taunus, Renault 4 and Citroën 2CV were a source of particularly fond memories and conversation among visitors.
The Ente was particularly popular on October 5, but Ford models from the seventies and eighties were also well represented.
Americans well represented
American cars from the fifties to the eighties were represented quite extensively.
Whether Chevrolet Camaro, Plymouth Barracuda or Ford Mustang, they were all there and were duly admired.
However, perhaps the most noticed appearance was made by a relatively young Mosler with the appearance of a Le Mans racing car.
Adapted to the weather
Those who had the choice were more likely to come to Zurich on October 5 in a sedan or a coupé of a more recent type, and the pre-war decades and the convertible fraction were correspondingly sparsely represented.
Which is not to say that there weren't a few of these to admire.
The cabin scooters with BMW Isetta and Heinkel/Trojan cabins were also well represented.
And now we can already look forward to next year, when the old cars and motorcycles will meet again at Albisgütli ...
A look at the picture gallery offers a cross-section of the event.
