Photo Gallery «Vorsprung durch Plastik - Auto Union's failed plastic car project»
In 1956, Auto Union GmbH laid to rest a project that was not only ambitious but also highly innovative. This report describes the history of the project and the reasons for its failure, illustrated with many previously unseen images.
DKW F9 (1939) - Auto Union consistently developed the DKW F9 as a competitor to the KdF-Wagen. The plan was to produce 100,000 vehicles per year. Also with a plastic body
