From 1966 to 1968, the American television station ABC produced the TV series "Batman", in which Adam West played Batman and Burt Ward played Robin. Another important role was played by the Batmobile, which was actually a discarded twelve-year-old concept car called the Lincoln Futura. In the 1950s, American automakers engaged in an attention-grabbing competition with dream cars and concept vehicles. In January 1955, Ford entered the Lincoln Futura into the race, a truly impressive vehicle. 5.7 meters long, 2.15 meters wide and 1.35 meters high, this one-off was a veritable spaceship that also looked a bit like a UFO. The crew was surrounded by two Plexiglas domes. These opened automatically when the door with the recessed door latch was opened.
