Four or six cylinders - VW-Porsche versus Porsche-Porsche 914
Summary
In 1970, Hobby magazine compared the four- and six-cylinder versions of the 914 - VW-Porsche versus Porsche, so to speak. The Hobby testers were impressed by the cheaper model, but were not entirely sure about the overall pricing and design. However, the comparisons with other vehicles are definitely interesting, be it the VW 411, the VwWKarmann-Ghia or Porsche 911.

The old Chain Bridge over the Danube is one of Budapest's landmarks. The Fisherman's Bastion is one of the city's most precious monuments. Our hosts from the Hungarian Automobile Club took us on a tour of all the beauties of Budapest. The hobby test team presented the two VW Porsches to Hungarian motor journalists at a press conference. The return journey became a race between the four- and six-cylinder cars. It was only on the highway that the six-cylinder engine was able to switch on the 'supercharger' and roar away at 200 kph. Is the VW-Porsche with the injection engine of the VW 411 a wannabe sports car or a car that is worth its 12,000 marks? Can it be used to cover long distances in reasonable comfort, but also quickly and economically?
