Stefan Fritschi is no stranger to classic cars in Switzerland. The former designer for Volkswagen - he penned the Lavida, which was developed in China - now writes for various magazines, works for Derendinger on the side and has a broad interest in classic cars of all kinds - from Porsche to VW and Oldsmobile. So it is not surprising that he once noticed an old lady who kept coming across him in an orange Toyota Corolla while shopping. He approached her, but she was not interested in selling. Fritschi sent a letter, but that didn't work either, until one day a letter arrived stating that the lady now wanted to part with her driver's license and, accordingly, the Toyota. After some work on the bodywork, this second-generation Corolla now stands in Stefan Fritschi's garage and looks like a barely used car with two or three years under its belt.
